KIRRAWEE tradie Tadhg Stephens, 21, is hanging up his tools for a shot in front of the camera. He has been selected as one of five NSW finalists in the search for Australia’s Hottest Tradie.

Mr Stephens, a civil engineer designer for four years, entered the competition on a whim after recently trying his hand at modelling.

“I’ve given modelling a go in the past year and it was quite fun,” he said.

“I love my job designing plans and constructing, but if the opportunity came up, I would love to start a modelling career.”

Mr Stephens said winning the competition, run by online dating site RSVP, could open many doors.

“I’m a hard worker and a down to earth guy, so I’m hoping my personality will help me stand out over the others,” he said.

“The exposure would really kick off my modelling career and the prizes would just be a bonus.”

The state winner will be announced tomorrow, February 10, at The Argyle, Sydney. The event starts at 6 pm and entry is free. The winner will compete in the grand final on February 24 and the first prize includes a new Toyota ute.
