RUGBY League great Eric Simms is selling the property he has called home for the past 16 years. The former South Sydney Rabbitohs player and his wife Charlene are downsizing from their four-bedroom Beverly Hills house and moving into a new luxury unit at Wolli Creek.Listing agent Joe Campiao from the Mason Property Group expects their house to fetch more than $950,000.

The two-storey property has several large entertainment areas and a pool.

Mr Simms said: “This was a great house to raise our children in, but since they have moved out [it’s now] too big.”

The couple bought a unit in Vine apartments, in the sold-out Discovery Point development built by Australand, and now being completed.

When the unit went on sale in 2009, they waited in line for two days to make sure they were the first buyers.

“Eric was on night duty and I would wait in the day,” Mrs Simms said.

“There were only two of the same calibre units in the plans and we knew we wanted one of them.”

Mr Simms said when they moved he would not miss the maintenance duties.

“It will be relaxing not to have any yards to clean or lawns to mow every week.”
