HOMEMAKERS turned out in force for the 27th Leader Home Show on the weekend.About 11,000 people attended the two-day event at Sutherland Basketball Stadium.

There were seminars, demonstrations and more than 80 exhibitors showcasing the latest home renovating trends.

A range of exhibitors took centre stage to inform and educate visitors with handy tips, including a woodwork demonstration, home-loan tips, pest-control solutions and solar-energy benefits.

Children were also kept entertained with a Featherdale Wildlife Park animal display and roaming clowns and magicians.

Christopher, of Penshurst, was the lucky visitor who scored the major Home Show prize of a Botany Bay sunset cruise for up to 30 guests worth $1500.

Home show visitor Lucinda, of Jannali, said it was a fantastic day for the family.

“We were looking for skylights and pest control and got information for that and much more,” she said. “There were lots of things for the children to do, including the sand pit.

“My son even got a Ben 10 painted armband.”
