IT’S the Broadway musical that has won nine Tony awards and a Pulitzer prize for drama.The theatre is bare and the stage is stripped of props with the main focus on the dancers auditioning for a new Broadway musical.

This is A Chorus Line and Miranda Musical Society will bring the Broadway classic to Sutherland Entertainment Centre at the end of September.

Director Gavin Leahy, musical director Greg Jones and choreographer Simone Salle lead a talented cast that features youngsters from St George and Sutherland Shire.

They include Roslyn Howell and Erin Bruce of Cronulla, Cassanne Ayre of Sylvania, Kira Nelson of Miranda, Sarah Furnari of Oyster Bay, Emma Paull of Engadine, Michael Astill of Cronulla, Jonathan Walsh of Woronora Heights, Tim Watson and Temujin Tera of Sutherland, Sean Perez of Hurstville, Ashleigh Colella of Bangor, Helena Kyriacou of Loftus, Tyler Hoggard of Yowie Bay, Gavin Leahy of Mainbar and Sam Larielle-Rogan of Sutherland.

The plot follows the lives of several different characters all vying to be noticed at the audition of a lifetime.

There are 19 main characters with the show providing a peek into the personalities of the performers and choreographers who describe the events that have shaped their lives.

Details: A Chorus Line will be presented by Miranda Musical Society at Sutherland Entertainment Centre at 8pm, Wednesday, September 21, to Sunday, September 25, and 1pm on Sunday, September 25.
