Lots applying for lots of beachside spots at Greenhills

SUTHERLAND Shire home seekers appear to be embracing Australand’s Greenhills Beach development, with almost 70 per cent of buyers so far hailing from the area. Of the 60 lots that have been sold from Stage One, 41 have gone to shire homeowners. The Cutts family from Kirrawee made a spontaneous decision to buy a lot last year. Mark and Natalie Cutts and their daughter Grace, 9, settled in Kirrawee after moving to NSW from Queensland six years ago, but their hearts had always been set on a beachside property. When they saw the development they put down $5000 to be in line for the first release. “The location was prime for us so we jumped at the chance,” Mrs Cutts said. “We were halfway down the list so we didn’t get the lot we wanted near the beach but we got the one that we could afford.” The family can start building their dream home in June. There are 236 lots altogether, ranging in size from 550 to 800 square metres. Greenhills Beach will give owners direct beach access with the spots closest to the beach proving to be the most popular. Australand’s Nigel Edgar said the figures showed the new suburb had been embraced by the wider community. “Greenhills Beach is proving popular with young families, with parents keen to give their children the opportunity to grow in a community that offers such an enviable lifestyle,” Mr Edgar said. The next release of lots is expected in February.
