FORMER world champion boxer Kostya Tszyu, 43, has put his Carss Park family home on the market. The Russian-born athlete, who was named Kogarah Council’s citizen of the year in January, and his wife Natasha, 40, have chosen to sell their luxurious abode for a lifestyle change.

“We wanted to downsize because this house is too big for us,” Mrs Tszyu said about their property, which extends over a 2400 square metre block across two separate titles.

“I love this house and it is complete for any large family,” he said.

It took two years for them to fully renovate the house before they moved in 10 years ago. The massive house includes six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a full-sized tennis court, four-car garage and an in-ground pool. The main bedroom itself measures more than 50 square metres. There’s also a gym, billiard room with a bar, spa and a sauna – one of Mrs Tszyu’s favourite features.

Listing agent Mark Kourouche from First National Real Estate Greenacre said they were looking for a price in the upper $2 million to lower $3 million-mark.

Mrs Tszyu said they planned to stay in Sydney with their children Timophy, 18, Nikita, 14, and Anastasia, 10.

“We’re not sure exactly where we will buy next, but it will be somewhere in Sydney,” Mrs Tszyu said.

Mr Tszyu, who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in New York last year, is training boxers in Russia.

Fairfax-owned Australian Property Monitors listed the highest Carss Park sale in the last year at $1.7 million.

The auction is at 2.30pm on-site on Saturday, June 30.
