For many women, in vitro fertilisation is often the last chance they have for a baby.
It’s an expensive treatment and it’s not unusual for patients to undergo multiple rounds of IVF before becoming pregnant.
So would knowing the success rate of IVF clinics help a prospective patient?
It’s a proposal one South Australian senator has put forward, in what he claims will help consumers better understand their chances of success before making the costly intervention.
But fertility experts are divided over whether publishing data will actually help the patient or the clinic.
